Mrs. McGowan is a 2001 graduate of The Colony High School where she was a four year member of the National Champion Topcats drill team. Whilst a Topcat Mrs. McGowan served as a social officer, junior lieutenant, and captain her senior year.
Upon completion of high school Mrs. McGowan attended Tyler Junior College where she was named to the Internationally famous Apache Belles. As an Apache Belle Mrs. McGowan served as student senate rep, and was named Head Dance Captain her sophomore year. During her time she performed at many events, but her favorite was performing for returning U. S. troops to Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.
In 2006 Mrs. McGowan received a Bachelor of Science degree in dance with teaching certification, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University where she was also a world renowned Texas State Strutter.
Previously Mrs. McGowan was the director of the Brownsboro Golden Girls from 2006-2010, the Keller High School assistant Indianette director and director of the Lady Royales from 2010-2012, and became the Longview High School Viewette director in 2014. In 2009 she was named a top ten director by Drill Team Directors of America.
In 2013 Mrs. McGowan became the Viewette director, and she loves all of the tradition, pride, and history the Viewettes and the Legacies (alumni) have.
Mrs. McGowan also works for Encore Creative Productions teaching and choreographing for other teams and studios across the state, and resides with her husband Tom and daughter Makenna.
