Students learn to

· Examine the roles and responsibilities of the police, courts, corrections, private security, and the protective agencies of fire and emergency services.

· Gain the ability to determine the ethical and legal responsibilities along with the operation of police and emergency telecommunication equipment along with courtroom testimony.

· Learn proper collection and preservation of evidence, interrogation methods, use of forensic science and case preparations.

· Use structured and scientific approach to the investigation of crimes of assault, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, accidental death, homicide, and the psychology of criminal behavior.

· Gain knowledge of proper terminology and investigation procedures related to crime scene questioning, interviewing, criminal behavior characteristics, truth detection, and scientific procedures.
